And by the way… we always have a low-key social dance between classes on Tuesdays from 19:30 to 20:15, where you’re welcome to join — even if you’re not currently taking any classes.

Summer Swing Dance

Summer is here, and that means it’s time for another season of summer dancing!

Come and join us as we play the finest swing music and teach you some great moves from the golden age of swing dancing.

18.00 – Swing Dance Introduction

(No partner needed, as we rotate partners throughout the lesson.)

After the introduction, we’ll put on some great swing music and keep dancing together.

Street Parade for Swing Dancers and Jazz Lovers

Saturday, 8 August at 11:00

To celebrate 100 years of jazz in Denmark, Jazzens Venner Fyn and Swing Central Odense have joined forces to organize a street parade through the streets of Odense with live jazz music.

We will start from two different locations and make our way towards Amfipladsen, where we will join the musicians and fellow jazz enthusiasts.

This is a great opportunity to show the people of Odense how much fun swing dancing is, so come and join us—and bring your friends!

Programme

11:00 – Meet at one of the two starting points. We will dance for a little while before following the musicians through the city. You are welcome to simply walk behind the band, groove to the music, or even dance as we move through the streets if you’re up for the challenge.

There will be two stops along the route, where we’ll dance for one or two songs before continuing.

We will finish at Amfiscenen, where all the musicians will come together for a mini concert featuring 4–6 songs.

After the mini concert, we’ll play swing music through the sound system and enjoy a couple of hours of social dancing.
